Separation is the ability to separate a person (that God has created in His Image) from the sin they have come into agreement with. The person is not the sin or evil, but they have come into agreement with sin or an evil spirit and have become one with it. It is temptation up to the point where the person comes into agreement with the sin, as a way of thinking, speaking, or acting contrary to the way God, thinks, speaks, or acts. God reconciles this to the person as a sinful act (holds the person responsible). They are in bondage to the enemy. When Jesus said “Father forgive them, for they no not what they do”… He meant it… people don’t know what they are doing or what they have come into agreement with!
Knowing this … should encourage us to have compassion for those who are held in bondage.
So, as in a marriage, or in a relationship in the body of Christ, what has to come first is for us to make a decision that we’re not each other’s enemy. This is not about us.
The battle isn’t with flesh and blood. It’s not your mother-in-law. It is what’s in her.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
We don’t want to become just like the world. They deal with each other on the basis that you did evil to me; therefore you’re evil. As a believer we do evil things to each other, but I know from the scriptures it is what’s manifesting through them that is evil. They’re not evil. But when they allow it, then the sin becomes their sin. They need to repent to God for allowing it to manifest in their members. One of the great things about being a believer is to understand spiritual things so that we’re not a victim; otherwise we’re no different than the animal kingdom.
Some people might say, “Well, that sounds so Utopian”. I mean in my church, in my family, in my life, people don’t really love like that. That may be true, but someone has to start somewhere.
Someone has to be spiritual. Who is it going to be? Someone has to get converted. This separates us from the world. It separates us from the animal kingdom. We are spirit beings. The scripture says — For as many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:12 KJV
So, I don’t have to follow the rudiments of the world; I don’t even have to follow the rudiments that are in me that haven’t been sanctified. I know my thoughts. I know my heart, and I know my thoughts may not be my own. We talked yesterday about how we may have been taught to think a certain way, but it didn’t have an origin in our own psyche.
