With several New Testament authors, including the book of Revelation, the words of Jesus were given when He sent His angel to John, and there is something called the doctrine of Balaam. God was concerned about something called the Doctrine of Balaam. The doctrine of Balaam is how Balaam taught Balak to get God’s people cursed by the enemy. In the book of Numbers, Balaam was to get them to mix their spirituality with pagan spirituality, and say there’s no consequence. There were 23 – 24,000 people who died in one day in that mixture of the boys and girls and marriage and worship of the gods and goddesses of that antiquity. The doctrine of Balaam is a very serious problem in Christianity today.
I’m a pastor talking (Henry Wright). My concern is that because of the cross, and because of Christ and their saying it was finished, we can now participate as a believer with sin and there’s no consequence here.
I call that false security. It’s a very dangerous precept that tries to give us an illusion of protection when we participate with sin. If that’s the case, why do we have any ministry going on at all?
Just let everything go into fatalism, and then when things go wrong, blame God. That’s what is happening today. “Well, I think my disease is of God.”
